Merkwaardige Kasteelen in Nederland, Deel II (van VI)
About this book
"Merkwaardige Kasteelen in Nederland, Deel II (van VI)" by Jacob van Lennep and Willem Jacob Hofdijk is a reference work published between 1852 and 1861. This volume explores the historical context of approximately forty Dutch castles through engaging narratives and lithographic illustrations. The second part covers castles including Heusden, Gemert, Monfoort, and the hunting lodge Het Loo. While praised for its attractive storytelling and imagery, the work's romantic approach and occasional creative interpretations mean some details should be taken with caution. It remains a standard reference on Dutch castles.
