Principia Mathematica Philosophiae Naturalis" של אייזק ניוטון הוא יצירה בשלושה כרטיסים שנפרסמה לראשונה ב-1687. נכתבה בלטינית, והיא מציגה את חוקי התנועה המהפכתים של ניוטון ואת חוק המשיכה היקומית, ומהפכת תצפיות פרטיות למסגרת מתמטית אחידה שמאפשרת הבנת היקום הפיזי. היצירה מסבירה את תנועת הכוכבים, השפלים והגאות, הקומטים וצורת כדור הארץ, באמצעות משפטים גאומטריים וחקרים אמפיריים. היא נחשבת כאולי המחקר המדעי הגדול ביותר שנכתב אי פעם, והיא סללה את הפיזיקה והאסטרונומיה המודרניות, משנות באופן יסודי את הבנת האנושות את הטבע.
