Edward Gibbonin ”Storia della decadenza e rovina dell'impero romano, volume 06” on vuosina 1776–1789 julkaistun historiateoksen kuudes osa. Tämä monumentaalinen sarja seuraa länsimaisen sivilisaation vaiheita Rooman valtakunnan kukoistuskaudelta islamilaisten ja mongolien valloitusten kautta Konstantinopolin kukistumiseen vuonna 1453. Aikakaudelleen harvinaisia alkuperäislähteitä hyödyntäen Gibbon tarkastelee toimintatapoja ja päätöksiä, jotka johtivat Rooman rappioon. Hänen metodologiansa vakiinnutti hänen asemansa antiikin Rooman ensimmäisenä modernina historioitsijana, vaikka hänen antiklerikaalinen näkökulmansa ja ankarat arvionsa bysanttilaisista herättivät huomattavaa kiistaa.
