At the packed inquest, Skeeter springs a trap with bold bluff and sharper shooting, exposing a ring led by cattleman Sam Keenan, aided by saloon front man Slim Lacey and deadly foreman Johnny Greer. Lacey confesses to drugging Hooty’s drinks to set him up while Keenan looted the bank and tried to pressure Margie. With the plot laid bare and Keenan finished, Hooty’s name is set to be cleared, Margie is granted the Tumbling K, and Skeeter quietly seals it all with a simple gift: “Happy Birthday” to the boy.
