تاريخ انحدار وسقوط الإمبراطورية الرومانية – المجلد الثاني" تأليف إدوارد جيبون، هو عمل تاريخي نُشر عام 1781. يواصل هذا المجلد سرد جيبون لتحول روما من ذروة قوتها الإمبراطورية إلى انهيارها. ويغطي العمل فترة ممتدة على خمسة عشر قرنًا، حيث يستعرض ظهور المسيحية كدين رسمي للدولة، بالإضافة إلى الغزوات البربرية والتدهور التدريجي في القيم المدنية الذي أضعف الإمبراطورية. كُتب هذا الكتاب بلغة موضوعية لكنها نقدية، وقد تحدى الرأي السائد حول دور المسيحية في مصير روما، مما أثار جدلاً لا يزال مستمرًا بين العلماء حتى اليوم.
