Edvard Gibbonning “Rim imperiyasining tanazzuli va qulashi tarixi” asari 1776–1788-yillarda nashr etilgan olti jildlik tarixiy asardir. Ushbu ulkan xronika 98-yildan 1590-yilgacha bo‘lgan davrni qamrab olib, Rim imperiyasining yuksalish cho‘qqisidan qulashigacha bo‘lgan jarayonni, ilk nasroniylikning davlat diniga aylanishini, Vizantiyaning qulashini hamda Chingizxon kabi siymolarning yuksalishini izchil yoritadi.
