"Balady i romanse" by Adam Mickiewicz is a collection of ballads published in 1822 in Vilnius as part of his first poetry volume. Considered the beginning of the ballad genre in Polish literature and a manifesto of Polish Romanticism, this work introduces fourteen poems where the supernatural penetrates everyday reality.
